Agilent Welcomes New Senior Vice President of Corporate Development

Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) is pleased to announce Eric Gerber as the company’s new senior vice president of strategy and corporate development, reporting to Agilent President and CEO, Mike McMullen, effective November 1, 2018.

Gerber will lead the corporate development team in identifying, developing and evaluating M&A plans globally while collaborating with the businesses groups to help drive critical growth initiatives across the company. Gerber will serve as a key member of the executive staff and advisor to the CEO to help shape the company’s overall strategic direction.

“Eric is an accomplished leader with a proven track record of developing and executing M&A and innovation-led growth strategies,” said McMullen. “His broad experience across the field of scientific instrumentation, consumables and services and his deep technical expertise will serve Agilent well as we look to expand our portfolio and global footprint in the next phase of the company’s growth journey.”

Gerber joins Agilent from Danaher where he served as vice president of business development for nearly seven years at SCIEX, an operating company of Danaher. His experience includes M&A, strategic planning, marketing, and disruptive innovation. His M&A work includes sizable and successful acquisitions in both the U.S. and China.

“I have immense respect for Agilent and its deep commitment to innovation, quality and value. Over my 25 years in the industry, I have visited countless labs that completely trust Agilent products to consistently produce the answers they need to get the job done,” said Gerber. “That trust has been earned through years of hard work by everyone at Agilent, and I am honored to be joining the Agilent team to help drive growth through insightful strategic planning, global acquisitions and groundbreaking partnership opportunities.”

Before joining SCIEX, Gerber was senior director of business development for Dionex Corporation where he headed corporate business development and strategic planning. He led the integration effort from the Dionex side for the merger with Thermo Fisher Scientific. Earlier in his career, Gerber was responsible for technology incubation at Applied Biosystems and spent eight years as a product manager at Varian in the chromatography division.

Gerber holds a BA from Reed College in organic chemistry.
