Lockheed Martin: Playing Defense?

In the run up to the U.S. presidential election in November, the smart money was on Lockheed Martin ( LMT ) benefiting from increased defense spending . I'm not sure anyone, however, imagined that President Donald Trump would take to Twitter to criticize Lockheed and other defense companies for the prices of their products. In my Jan. 14 Trader column, I told investors not to fear Trump's tweets , especially when it came to Lockheed Martin and other defense companies, but it looks like those Tweets might be having an impact after all judging by Lockheed's earnings today .
