From September 20-29, Goosechase and Holes in the Wall Collective are hosting a free climate action scavenger hunt in New York City.
NEW YORK - Sept. 19, 2024 - PRLog -- This Climate Week, Goosechase is excited to power a free city-wide scavenger hunt like never before. In collaboration with creative nonprofit Holes in the Wall Collective, we're bringing New Yorkers together to explore, engage, and take climate action across all five boroughs. From individual reflections to powerful on-the-ground talks and events, this interactive experience will help participants discover the heart of the climate movement happening in their own backyard.
From September 20-29, journey through the neighborhoods of New York City, where climate luminaries are leading the charge in areas such as housing justice, shoreline protection, food security, youth action, and clean energy. From attending ocean clean-ups on Jamaica Bay to foraging urban landscapes in the Bronx, the goal of the scavenger hunt is to inspire meaningful engagement and ongoing climate action.
"Every New Yorker's love for this city is personal. But from our bagels to our beer, the roofs over our heads, the water we drink, everything we love relies on a liveable future, and that means a climate that can sustain all life. That's why we're rallying New Yorkers to take action now so the things we love today will still be here tomorrow. And to take on the big scary things with some joy and creativity," say Dhira Rauch & Julia Meeks, co-directors of Holes in the Wall Collective.
How It Works
Using the free Goosechase app and searching for the Join Code: HWC2024, participants will navigate the city to find climate actions, installations, and activations. At each event, participants will have to complete a related Mission, such as taking a photo of their community garden, attending a Ferry Talk, or checking in at the Waterfront Museum. Each Mission allows participants to collect points for their participation, earning them eco-friendly prizes, from Citi Bike memberships to custom Tony's Chocolonely bars. It's easy, fun, and free to participate.
"As a platform built to foster connection and learning, we're proud to bring our technology to the frontlines of climate action," says Andrew Cross, CEO and Founder of Goosechase. "Our mission is to make the world more playful and human, and what better way to do that than by mobilizing communities for a cause as important as the future of our planet?"
The Goosechase of Our Lives
