The Qi Station grows from solo practice to seven practitioners as Vancouver demand for integrative wellness continues to expand.

A downtown Vancouver wellness studio is expanding its collaborative practitioner team as demand for integrative health services grows across the city. The Qi Station, located at 119 West Pender Street, has grown from a solo acupuncture practice founded in 2017 into a multidisciplinary clinic of seven practitioners offering more than nine modalities across five treatment rooms. The studio is currently recruiting practitioners in osteopathy, naturopathy, and registered massage therapy to meet rising patient interest in comprehensive care delivered by a coordinated team rather than individual solo practitioners working independently.

The studio’s growth reflects a broader pattern in Vancouver’s wellness sector, where patients increasingly seek clinics that offer multiple modalities under one roof rather than visiting separate practitioners for acupuncture, massage therapy, and bodywork. The Qi Station’s model combines treatment room rentals with shared reception and billing infrastructure, allowing practitioners from different disciplines to operate independently within a single facility. Treatment room rentals are available at $80 per half-day and $110 per full-day, giving practitioners access to a fully equipped clinical environment without the overhead of a standalone commercial lease. The studio credits this rental-based structure for enabling its rapid team expansion from a solo operation to the current seven-person team across five treatment rooms.

“When I started practicing in Vancouver, I worked out of a single room as a solo acupuncturist,” said Delphine Baumer, Registered Acupuncturist and founder of The Qi Station. “As patient demand grew, I realized that the collaborative model could support not just my own practice but also bring in practitioners from other disciplines who wanted the same thing: a professional space where they could focus on patient care without managing a lease and front-of-house operations on their own. That shift is what allowed us to grow from one practitioner to seven, and we are actively looking for more team members to join us as interest in integrative care continues to rise across Vancouver.”

The studio’s approach extends beyond practitioner recruitment to include community-oriented programming. A dedicated workshop space hosts events and group classes, providing additional revenue opportunities for practitioners and creating programming that draws new patients into the clinic. The studio also operates the Karma Care initiative, a donation-funded accessibility program that offers reduced-rate treatments for community members facing financial hardship. Founded by Baumer, the program is funded entirely through voluntary client and practitioner contributions and reflects the studio’s commitment to making care available regardless of financial circumstances. The program aligns with the studio’s broader mission of accessible, community-centered wellness in downtown Vancouver.

The expansion of multidisciplinary wellness studios in downtown Vancouver coincides with shifts in the commercial real estate market, where health and wellness tenants are filling spaces vacated by retail businesses in the post-pandemic period. For practitioners entering private practice, joining an established multi-modality studio offers a lower-risk entry point than securing and outfitting an individual space. With seven practitioners currently on site and active recruitment underway for osteopathy, naturopathy, and RMT roles, the clinic exemplifies a model that an increasing number of Vancouver wellness professionals are exploring as an alternative to solo practice. As patient expectations shift toward coordinated, multidisciplinary care, studios that offer both infrastructure and community may continue to attract practitioners seeking a sustainable path into clinical work.
