The announcement follows data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimating that 50 to 70 million adults in the United States live with a chronic sleep or wakefulness disorder. Southern California Pulmonary & Sleep Disorders Medical Center aims to help Camarillo patients determine whether they are among this population and what course of care may be appropriate.
Patients are required to complete a questionnaire packet before their first appointment. This can be completed digitally or by hand and submitted by email, mail, fax, or in person. Once the center reviews the completed document, an evaluation appointment is scheduled.
After a diagnosis is established, the team develops a treatment plan suited to the patient's specific condition, medical history, and personal preferences. The center treats a range of sleep disorders, including insomnia, excessive daytime sleepiness, snoring, sleep apnea, restless limb syndrome, and narcolepsy.
