Melbourne SEO and digital marketing agency SIXGUN has now funded 3,536 trees and avoided 694.93 tonnes of CO2e through B Corp-certified climate platform Ecologi, with its contribution calculated per employee rather than set as a fixed annual budget.

Ecologi is a UK-based, B Corp-certified climate platform that pools member contributions into verified carbon avoidance, reforestation and nature restoration schemes. Each project is assessed by an independent climate committee before funding flows to it, and members can see exactly which schemes their money supports.
Climate Action Priced Into Every Role
SIXGUN funds trees and offsets emissions for every person it employs. Because the figure is calculated per head, the agency's climate contribution rises automatically as the team grows - the commitment is built into the cost of a role rather than reviewed once a year against a marketing budget.
The agency, which provides content, paid media, social and SEO services to Australian businesses, describes itself on the platform as "serious about social impact". SIXGUN's profile now carries badges for its first 1,000 trees and for three consecutive years of climate action.
Founded in 2017, SIXGUN has taken a comparable long-view approach to client work, building search visibility that holds rather than chasing short-term ranking wins.
Sixteen Projects, Four Continents
The agency's funding is spread across a deliberately mixed portfolio rather than concentrated in tree planting alone.
Forest protection accounts for the largest share. The protection of the Matavén forest in eastern Colombia alone represents 209.93 tonnes of CO2e avoided, with further contributions to Amazon conservation and rainforest preservation in Brazil.
Methane avoidance is the second-largest category, led by the Macaúbas landfill project in Brazil at 102.23 tonnes, alongside landfill gas capture at Uberlândia and organic waste-to-energy in India.
Renewable generation spans wind farms in Mexico, north-east Thailand and Honduras, solar in Morocco, Egypt and Indonesia, and small-scale hydropower in India. Newer additions include peatland restoration and conservation in Indonesia, one of the most effective carbon sinks in nature, at 33.07 tonnes.
Community programs round out the portfolio, among them fuel-efficient cookstoves in Uganda and water-borehole repairs in Eritrea, which cut emissions while delivering direct local benefit.
"The point of tying this to headcount is that nobody has to remember to do it," said David Pagotto, Founder of SIXGUN. "It scales on its own, it doesn't compete with anything else in the budget, and it means every hire we make is also a climate decision."
The commitment continues, and SIXGUN expects to cross 700 tonnes within the current quarter. At 694.93 tonnes of CO2e avoided, the agency's contribution to date is roughly equivalent to 533 long-haul flights, 2,085 square metres of sea ice saved, or more than 1.7 million miles - about 2.85 million kilometres - driven in a car.
