-- On June 5, a special Fuzhou cultural and tourism promotion event, themed “The Land of Blessings: A Rendezvous with Seoul”, was held in the China exhibition area at the 41st Seoul International Travel Fair (SITF). A vibrant lineup of performances inspired by Fuzhou’s rich intangible cultural heritage captivated visitors, drawing enthusiastic applause from local visitors and guests from around the world.

The event opened with a promotional video highlighting Fuzhou’s cultural and tourism attractions. Breathtaking natural scenery, historic streets and alleyways, rich intangible cultural heritage, and picturesque coastal landscapes unfolded across the screen, offering a vivid and immersive glimpse into the city’s unique character and cultural heritage. The captivating visuals quickly drew the attention of visitors from around the world, setting the stage for the performances that followed.

The performances were among the highlights of the event. Rhythms of the She Ethnic Dance captivated the audience with its graceful movements, vividly bringing to life the traditions and folk customs of the She people. A classic excerpt from Minju Opera, The Tale of the Twin Butterfly Fans: Butterflies in the Morning Light, took center stage, enchanting visitors with its distinctive melodious and graceful tunes. The traditional Chinese musical ensemble presented a creative fusion of Chinese and Korean musical classics. Musicians performed the timeless Chinese folk song Jasmine Flower alongside the iconic theme song from the South Korean TV drama Dae Jang Geum (Jewel in the Palace), with music serving as a bridge between the two cultures. These performances elegantly showcased the charm of Fujian’s cultural heritage.

During the travel fair, the “Land of Blessings: A Rendezvous with Seoul” cultural and tourism promotion event also made a stop at Inha University, where the delegation engaged in face-to-face exchanges with South Korean students and faculty. Through a combination of presentations, cultural performances, and hands-on intangible cultural heritage experiences, the event provided a comprehensive showcase of Fuzhou’s scenic landscapes, rich cultural traditions, and urban charm.
