Iris Fernandez has a background in Nursing for 35yrs, and in co- authoring, freelance voice overs, and book editing. . This helped shaped the creation of the book Upon her retirement in 2020, Iris embraced her passion for writing. As a co-author and founding member of Latinas 100™ Vol II and III, and a contributing author to Hispanic Stars Rising Vol III and IV, her writings amplify the voices of women, advocating for empowerment and representation. Additionally, Iris finds joy in the culinary arts, often ‘veganizing’ her favorite traditional dishes.
When asked about why she wrote the book, Iris said: she wants her story to resonate with anyone who has faced adversity and dared to dream.” Iris wrote this book to inspire the generations to come faced with same hard realities.
Iris hopes women around the world and victims of domestic violence can read her story and know there is a way out..
