2024 CTC CUP Ballroom Dance Championships——World Ballroom Champions join hands with the Taipei Philharmonic Orchestra for a spectacular performance

The “2024 CTC CUP Ballroom Dance Championships” will make its dazzling debut at the Taipei Arena on Saturday, July 6th. This event is guided by the Sports Administration, Ministry of Education, and the Chinese Taipei Council of Ballroom Dancing, co-organized by Department of Sports, Taipei City Government and Association Legal Person National Dance Sports of the Republic of China . It has attracted about 1,130 competitors to register. This time, we have employed world-class judges and overseas couples to join hands with our national athletes to light up this event. We have also invited the Taipei Philharmonic Orchestra and the Music Line big Band to perform with us, creating the grandest audio-visual dance feast in Asia. At the press conference, Department of Sports, Taipei City Government Special committee member Mr.LO expressed gratitude to the Chinese Taipei Council of Ballroom Dancing (CTCBD) for their promotion and Association Legal Person National Dance Sports of the Republic of China for their meticulous preparation, which has put Taiwan on the international stage. Invited judges include Hannes Emirich, Secretary-General of the World Dance Council (WDC); Steve Powell, Honorary Vice President of the WDC; Gaynor Fareweather, thirteen-time World Professional Latin Champion; Christopher Short, organizer of the UK Championships and INTERNATIONAL World Ballroom Dance Competition; Zhang Ding-fang, China’s Professional Latin Champion; Yang Chao, China’s Professional Standard Champion, and others. These judges will evaluate the competitors’ performances from a fair and professional perspective. So far, the number of international teams registered has exceeded 150, adding to the tense and exciting atmosphere of the event.

Moreover, the hot finalists from the British Blackpool Dance Festival that concluded in May will also step into the Taipei Arena to enjoy this stage. World champions such as Dorin Frecautanu & Marina Sergeeva (UK), Blackpool World Professional Latin finalists Kirill Belorukov & Valeriya Aidaeva (Russia), Klemen Prasnikar & Alexsandra Averkieva (Slovenia), World Amateur Latin champions Salvatore Sinardi & Alexandra Kondrashova (Italy), World Amateur Latin finalists Tang Yi-ming & Huang Xin-yi (China), and World Professional Standard champions Stanislav Zelianin & Irina Cherepanova (Singapore) will join the competition, adding more excitement and watchability to the event. Notably, Sharif Mirkhanvo & Anna Dolgopolova, the world champions under 21 from Russia who recently won the Amateur Rising Stars Latin at the British Blackpool Dance Festival, will come to Taiwan to participate in the ballroom extravaganza.

This event not only pushes ballroom dance onto the international stage but also provides the audience with a cross-genre musical feast.
