A Revolutionary Urban Park Experience
Set in Tokyo’s vibrant Ginza neighborhood, Ginza Sony Park is an architectural and cultural landmark that pushes the boundaries of what a public space can be. Built on the site of the iconic Sony Building, it embodies Sony’s long-standing commitment to innovation, experimentation and public engagement.
The park is designed to provide free and open access to world-class cultural experiences, offering rotating exhibitions, pop-ups, installations and events featuring Japan’s most notable artists and creators.
More than just a gathering place, Ginza Sony Park is a hybrid space — a fusion of a park, museum, event venue and interactive showroom — allowing visitors to explore the best of Tokyo’s art, music and design in one location.
Prime Location, Seamless Accessibility
Located at Sukiyabashi Crossing, one of Tokyo’s busiest intersections, and directly connected to the subway concourse, Ginza Sony Park offers unparalleled accessibility. Its striking design, marked by open-plan architecture, encourages pedestrian flow, creating an inviting and organic public space.
Sony’s legacy and its spirit of innovation are deeply embedded in Ginza Sony Park. Sony is a company that’s always dared to try new and unusual things. It revolutionized music and entertainment with the Walkman and the PlayStation, respectively, and now it’s set to reimagine what a public space can be — integrating cutting-edge design and tech without sacrificing accessibility.
The original Sony Building featured Sony Square, a 33-square-meter “Garden of Ginza.” It was a beloved gathering spot, fully open to the public, which brought seasonal events to the city. Ginza Sony Park expands this vision, offering a full-fledged “Park of Ginza.”
“Sony Park Exhibition 2025”: A Grand Opening Showcase
Through a constantly evolving lineup of events, installations, and performances, Ginza Sony Park will remain in continuous dialogue with its visitors and surroundings.
To mark its launch, Ginza Sony Park presents “Sony Park Exhibition 2025,” an ambitious multi-phase exhibition in collaboration with world-renowned musical artists. Running in two parts, it features immersive, tech-driven installations by Vaundy, YOASOBI, Hitsujibungaku, BABYMONSTER, Creepy Nuts, and Kensuke Ushio. These interactive experiences showcase Sony’s diverse expertise across video games, music, entertainment technology and more.
Celebrating Local Cuisine
Ginza Sony Park’s dedication to cultural exchange extends to its culinary offerings. On the third basement floor, the eatery Nibun no Ichi highlights yoshoku — Japan’s unique take on Western-inspired cuisine. Presented in an artful, casual dining space, this concept allows visitors to enjoy iconic dishes in small portions, making for a relaxed yet refined gastronomic experience.
A Paradigm-Shifting Cultural Landmark
Ginza Sony Park is more than just a physical space — it’s a dynamic and evolving landmark that challenges traditional urban design. By fostering creativity and collaboration and engaging the public in unexpected ways, it redefines how cities can create meaningful experiences for their residents and visitors alike.
