NTX® Group Introduces First Industrial-Grade Global AI Model for Garment Industry
Innovator is head of trend: AI will deeply integrate into all areas of apparel industry production

SAN FRANCISCO - August 9, 2024 - Newtech Textile Technology Development Company, NTX® Group, today announced the debut of the world's first industrial-grade AI model designed to profoundly enhance apparel industry production. As experts in denim production, NTX has the experience to establish break-through AI for jeans and other denim products—leading the industry in innovation and creativity.

Production of jeans involves utilizing six intermediate layer models for a single pair of pants. The bottom layer is the wireframe model, used as the pattern piece diagram. By leveraging AI technology for simulating the second layer of yarn, NTX digitally examines each detail of the weaving process online for enhanced understanding of fiber characteristics and elasticity. Having accurate information then leads to production of the third denim layer, combining the dye layer with the AI-generated fabric.

According to Allen Lai, Co-founder of NTX, “The finished denim garment that arrives on the shelf offers consumers various and interesting visual effects, up close and from a distance.” He explained, “Currently, NTX has approximately 2 million pattern data sets at our disposal. AI assists in optimizing the construction of the apparel engineering process. In production, the denim initially appears as a cylinder with highlights. When we apply color calibration and other adjustment four layers of the garment are compressed together to form the final product.

The AI weaving process fully simulates the real production process. Two yarns are intertwined, one thicker and one thinner. Their density, gaps. Through extensive machine learning and intensive AI artistic training, fabric images are generated. “Images mix with the texture and color of the underlying fabric,” said Lai. Since the fabric itself has texture, printing images on it can be problematic. Only by separating the fabric and printing layers can the final accurate pattern be printed.”

NTX Group is a global textile innovation and solutions company that is devoted to the planet and future generations.
