CORE Industrial Partners Completes the Sale of PrecisionX Group

CORE Industrial Partners (“CORE”), a manufacturing, industrial technology, and industrial services-focused private equity firm, announced today the sale of PrecisionX Group (“PrecisionX” or the “Company”), a provider of high precision metal components for critical-use applications in growth-oriented end markets to Windjammer Capital (“Windjammer”).

Headquartered in Waterbury, Connecticut, PrecisionX offers specialty deep and shallow drawn and progressive stamping as well as Swiss screw, CNC, and wire EDM machining technologies for a variety of end markets, including aerospace & defense, medical devices, and satellite & space. The platform covers approximately 400,000 square feet of manufacturing space with more than 650 employees across seven facilities. The Company holds ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and AS9100D certifications, in addition to ITAR and FDA registrations.

CORE initially invested in PrecisionX in February 2023 with the vision of scaling a differentiated provider of advanced manufacturing and material science capabilities, delivering mission-critical products across highly regulated industries. Over the last three years, the Company achieved nearly 5X EBITDA growth by building a robust commercial engine and investing in capacity and new capabilities, as well as executing and fully integrating five strategic add-on acquisitions.

John May, Managing Partner of CORE, said, “We believe the successful exit of PrecisionX Group after a 3-year hold period is another validation of CORE’s thesis-driven approach in the industrial sector, and further demonstrates the firm’s ability to be a strong partner for families and entrepreneurs seeking a firm capable of growing a business through strategic focus and operational support. We also believe the Company is well positioned to continue its track record of growth, and we wish the PrecisionX team the best going forward with their new financial partner.”

Rock Lambert, Operating Partner at CORE, said, “During CORE’s ownership, we identified an opportunity to build a differentiated player of scale by expanding the Company’s operational footprint and broadening its technical capabilities. Through a combination of organic and inorganic initiatives, the business expanded from a single site to a network of seven facilities while incorporating multiple specialized advanced manufacturing technologies. In parallel, we sharpened the Company’s focus on key high-growth end markets, positioning it to deliver increasingly complex, mission-critical solutions to its customers. The team’s disciplined execution of these strategic priorities drove expansion and established a strong foundation for continued success.”

Chris Huntington, CEO of PrecisionX, said, “CORE has been an exceptional partner, and their investment, strategic guidance, and operational support were instrumental in building PrecisionX into the platform it is today. I am proud of everything we accomplished together and grateful for CORE's commitment to building a truly differentiated market leader. As we begin our next chapter with Windjammer, I am excited by the opportunities ahead and confident that together we will further strengthen our position as a scaled provider of critical-use highly engineered precision components.”

Baird and Houlihan Lokey served as financial advisors, and Kirkland & Ellis acted as legal advisor.
