Former Modernizing Medicine CTO to lead AvaSure's technology strategy as the company advances its smart room strategy
AvaSure, the virtual care platform powering the smart room, today announced the appointment of Patric Edmondson as Chief Technology Officer. Edmondson joins AvaSure's Executive Leadership Team and will oversee engineering, product development, cloud and infrastructure, data and AI, and information security as Chief Technology Officer.
“We are delighted to welcome Patric to AvaSure,” said Greg Heller, Interim CEO of AvaSure. “I worked closely with Patric at Modernizing Medicine, and he is one of the finest leaders I have had the privilege of working alongside. I’m confident his leadership will help AvaSure continue to support health systems in delivering on their Smart Room strategy and advancing clinical workflows.”
Edmondson brings more than 30 years of technology leadership experience across healthcare and other highly regulated industries. He served as Chief Technology Officer during his nine years at Modernizing Medicine where he directed product development, engineering, data analytics, cloud services, and regulatory compliance for solutions used by thousands of providers nationwide.
Most recently, Edmondson served as Chief Information Officer of The Specialty Alliance and, previously, of GI Alliance, the nation's largest multi-specialty Management Services Organization (MSO) platform backed by Cardinal Health, where he led technology strategy, cybersecurity, and data & analytics, supporting approximately 3,000 providers across 32 states. Earlier in his career, he held executive roles at NTT Communications, Campus Management (now Anthology) and JM Family Enterprises, and served as Chief Information Officer for two government agencies.
“I am honored to join AvaSure at such an important moment for virtual care,” said Edmondson. “Hospitals depend on AvaSure to protect their patients, which makes security, scalability and reliability essential. Already in 170+ health systems, I look forward to partnering with the team at AvaSure and our customers to continue to bring the smart room to more health systems.”
Edmondson will build on the technology organization's recent momentum, which includes the launch of AvaSure Virtual Care Hub and new integrations with Epic. His priorities include advancing AvaSure's Epic-first smart room strategy and scaling AI-enabled virtual care across the company's customer base.
Edmondson holds a Bachelor of Science from Texas State University and a Master of Public Administration from Florida Atlantic University. He serves on the boards of two not-for-profit organizations.
