Easterly Asset Management Appoints Tom Aitken and Peter Mastropietro as Senior Vice Presidents of Private Market Sales

Appointments to further expand access for private wealth and institutional investors to

Easterly’s growing portfolio of Alternatives Solutions

Easterly Asset Management (“Easterly”), home to investment teams providing private wealth and institutional investors with a portfolio of solutions across alternatives, active equity, and active fixed income, today announced the appointments of Tom Aitken and Peter Mastropietro as Senior Vice Presidents of Private Market Sales.

In the newly created roles, Aitken and Mastropietro will leverage their decades of experience in capital formation, private wealth and institutional sales to further expand access to Easterly’s growing portfolio of Alternatives Solutions.

Easterly’s Alternative Solutions provide private wealth and institutional investors with access to curated private markets solutions. Easterly’s current portfolio of Alternative Solutions includes:

  • Harrison Street, a global investment management firm focused on demographic-driven, needs-based real assets including senior housing, student housing, healthcare delivery, life sciences and storage real estate as well as social, utility, and digital infrastructure.
  • Lateral Investment Management, a private equity firm focused on transformational growth buyouts at owner-operated middle market businesses.
  • Easterly Clear Ocean, a company formed to capitalize on the imbalances and dislocations in the international shipping markets with the goal of achieving outsized returns.

“We have assembled a specialized team of high-performing sales executives to underscore our commitment to bringing differentiated and unique private markets investment opportunities to investors,” said Darrell Crate, Founder and Managing Principal of Easterly. “Tom and Peter’s long tenure and extensive networks within the private wealth and institutional allocator channels will make them valuable additions to the distribution team as we seek to fulfill the growing demand among investors for quality alternative assets.”

Aitken and Mastropietro join Easterly as the company continues to strategically expand access to its curated solutions for wealth managers, registered investment advisors (RIAs), high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and institutional investors. This focus on growth is underscored by several key appointments made in recent months, including the additions of Genna Brounstein and Jennifer Cahill as Senior Vice Presidents of Private Market Sales in September 2024.

“Through our growing and carefully curated Alternative Solutions, we are able to unlock access to private markets for private wealth and institutional investors and help them to achieve their investment objectives,” said Phil Juliano, Jr., Head of Sales at Easterly. “Tom and Peter will help accelerate our distribution capabilities and build upon our successful partnerships in the private markets space.”

Aitken joins Easterly after four years at UBS Global Asset Management, where he supported the firm’s real estate private markets investment funds, driving capital formation strategies, US sales prospecting, and expanding fund offerings as Director of Portfolio & Client Services, Real Estate & Private Markets. His previous roles include serving as Director of Institutional Sales and Business Development at Unigestion, a Geneva-based multi-strategy boutique asset management firm, and as Managing Director at Bright Harbor Advisors, an independent private fund advisor. He holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses.

Mastropietro most recently served as Director within the Capital Formation and Investor Relations team at Brevan Howard, where he spearheaded business development and sales strategy for their global macro hedge fund solutions. Before that, he spent a decade at BlackRock within their Institutional Client Business, guiding central banks, sovereign wealth funds, and pensions through complex investment strategies. He holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses.
