JWMI recognized in the list of best online MBA programs for the fifth year in a row
The Jack Welch Management Institute at Strayer University (JWMI) was recognized by Poets&Quants – the premier online publication for business education news – as one of the top 10 online MBA programs for 2023. JWMI was ranked number 6 out of 50 institutions, moving up four spots from 2022. Data for the rankings came from surveys distributed to participating schools and to alumni, with 50 schools included in this year’s ranking.
“It is a privilege to be recognized as one of the best online MBA programs in the country by Poets&Quants for the fifth consecutive year. Our placement in the top 10 for two straight years is a testament to the dedication of our students and faculty,” said Mary Carr, Senior Vice Provost and Dean, JWMI. “JWMI uniquely prepares students to move forward in the industry by teaching practices and philosophy drawn from the frontlines of business.”
Poets&Quants based its rankings on three core criteria of online business programs, which include: admissions standards, academic experience and the career outcomes of the graduates. Among these factors JWMI placed 3rd in level of satisfaction with ability to immediately apply what students learned in the program to their job. With additional rankings as 2nd in overall quality, accessibility and responsiveness of professors, and 7th in level of satisfaction with the opportunities provided to create good connections with faculty.
JWMI has consistently improved in Poets&Quants annual ranking moving up from number 10 and number 20 in 2022 and 2021, respectively. For 2023, the program placed 2nd for the level of satisfaction with the "asynchronous" portion of the online MBA program, and 3rd in satisfaction with the flexibility provided by the program, encouraging students to learn on their own schedule. JWMI has also been highly ranked among top online MBA programs by The Princeton Review and CEO Magazine.
“JWMI is a shining star in the Strayer University suite of offerings, and I could not be prouder of the progress JWMI has made over the past few years in becoming one of the top online MBA programs in the country,” said Dr. Andréa S. Backman, President, Strayer University. “This honor affirms our mission which seeks to empower our students to achieve their personal and professional aspirations.”
Since becoming part of Strayer University in 2011, JWMI has grown rapidly and graduated more than 3500 students. Founded by the renowned CEO and business icon, the late Jack Welch, JWMI was designed to provide students with opportunities to learn from business leaders and propel their careers forward. Jack Welch’s influence spans the curriculum, the faculty, the students, and the administration. JWMI currently enrolls a diverse population of approximately 2,000 students, representing 42 countries.
