JustGains Introduces AI-Powered Fitness App for Partner-Based Workouts

Tampa, FL - Most fitness apps treat working out as a solo activity and motivation as a notification problem. JustGains, a workout logging platform for iOS and Android, takes the opposite bet: the most reliable way to stay consistent is to train with someone, even if they're in a different gym, city, or time zone.

The app's headline feature, Partner Workouts, lets two people run a training session together in real time. Each partner sees the other's sets, reps, and weights appear the moment they're logged, alongside live reactions and in-session chat. The result feels less like logging and more like being on a team, and skipping a workout means standing someone up.

"Nobody quits the gym because their app ran out of features. They quit because nobody notices when they stop," said James Greene, founder of JustGains. "So we built the app your friends are actually inside of. When your training partner watches your sets land in real time, showing up stops being a willpower question."

Logging that gets out of the way

Underneath the social layer is a logger built to disappear during the workout. The app works fully offline and syncs when a connection returns, so a dead spot in a basement gym never loses a set. Lifters can log hands-free by voice ("bench press, 185 for 8"), and finished sessions are celebrated with personal record tracking and 3D awards on-screen, closer to a training diary than a spreadsheet.

The app also syncs with Apple Health and Health Connect, pulling in runs, rides, and daily activity so the full picture of training lives in one place.

See recovery, not just history

Where most loggers show what you did, JustGains shows what your body is ready for next. Its muscle recovery graphs render a live map of which muscle groups are fresh, recovering, or still fatigued, based on recent training volume, so the next session is planned around readiness rather than guesswork. Together with streak tracking and weekly training-balance views, the app answers the two questions every lifter carries into the gym: "Am I doing enough?" and "What should I hit today?"

One app instead of three

Most people who take training seriously end up juggling separate apps: one for workouts, one for step counts and daily activity, one for food. JustGains folds all three into a single system that shares one source of truth. Steps, water, runs, and rides land next to logged lifts; nutrition entries sit alongside the training they fuel; and goals are tracked against all of it at once, so progress reflects the whole week rather than one slice of it.

The integration is what makes each piece smarter. A goal like "train four times a week and hit my protein target" can actually be measured, because the app sees both sides. Daily activity feeds into the same recovery picture as gym sessions, and nutrition logging takes seconds instead of a database search. No exports, no syncing between subscriptions, no piecing the story together by hand.

Claude, built in

JustGains integrates Claude, Anthropic's AI assistant, directly into the app's messaging, where it sits in the chat list like any other training partner. Users can ask Claude to generate a workout, which arrives as a tappable card they can start on the spot; log a meal by describing it in plain language; adjust their goals mid-conversation; or ask why a lift has stalled. Because Claude works from the user's own training history and recovery state, the coaching reflects what they've actually done rather than offering generic advice.

A feed that celebrates the work

Between sessions, a built-in feed keeps the circle connected: users share completed workouts with their squad, follow friends and creators, and cheer each other on. Sharing is opt-in per workout, and the feed is built around encouragement rather than comparison: finished sessions, personal records, and streaks, not filtered gym selfies.

Availability

JustGains is available now on the App Store and Google Play, with a companion web experience at justgains.com.
