Customer Background

The customer is a chemical enterprise located in Johor State, Malaysia, mainly producing organic pigments and dye intermediates. During the production process, a large amount of high-viscosity pigment slurry is generated, and the liquid in the slurry needs to be separated from the solid pigment particles to obtain the filter cake for drying and packaging. The original plate and frame filter press used manual plate pulling and discharging, with low efficiency and severe leakage of filtrate. The on-site environment was poor. The customer urgently needed a set of filtration equipment with high automation level and good sealing performance.

Solution

We have designed and provided a fully automatic box-type filter press (Model 1000) for our customers. It features a carbon steel frame combined with corrosion-resistant PP filter plates. The liquid discharge method is in a dark flow pattern, effectively preventing the splashing of pigment slurry. The equipment is equipped with an automatic hydraulic pressing system, an automatic hole blowing function, an automatic plate pulling mechanism, and an automatic vibration and discharge device. The filtration pressure is set at 0.6 Mpa, and the filter cake thickness is stably controlled at 30 mm. The inlet diameter is DN80, and the flange standard follows HG. It is compatible with the customer's existing pipelines. The entire machine is controlled by a one-button start system, enabling the entire process of pressing, feeding, drying, pulling the plate, vibrating, and discharging to be completed automatically.

Operating effect

The filtrate is clear and transparent, and the interception rate of solid particles exceeds 99%, meeting the requirements for pigment recovery.

The automatic hole blowing process reduces the moisture content of the filter cake by approximately 15%, resulting in a significant decrease in the energy consumption for subsequent drying.

The automatic plate pulling mechanism combined with vibration for discharging ensures that each cycle of material discharge only takes 6 minutes, eliminating the need for manual material removal.

The dark liquid discharge system has no leakage at all, and the workshop floor remains dry, which has improved the working environment.

The surface of the PP filter plate is smooth and there is little pigment residue. The cleaning cycle has been extended from once a week to once every two weeks.

The filter cake thickness is 30mm and it is uniform. No secondary crushing is required during packaging.
