Section 2 – Financial Information
Item 2.01 Completion of Acquisition or Disposition of Assets.
On May 15, 2013, Southwestern Energy Company’s (the “Company”) subsidiary Southwestern Energy Production Company closed the acquisition of approximately 162,000 net acres in the Marcellus Shale in Pennsylvania pursuant to a definitive purchase agreement that was entered into on April 25, 2013. The properties were acquired from Chesapeake Energy Corporation and its partner for approximately $93 million, excluding purchase price adjustments. The Company has financed the acquisition with its revolving credit facility.
