GOL Receives Authorization to Fly to Lima, Peru

São Paulo, August 28, 2006 – GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes (NYSE: GOL and Bovespa: GOLL4), Brazil’s low-cost, low-fare airline, today announced it has received authorization from the International Relations department of the ANAC (National Agency of Civil Aviation) to operate regular flights to Lima, Peru. The Company is taking the necessary steps to operate on this new route.

The ANAC has authorized GOL to operate 14 regular flights per week to Peru’s capital, using its Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft. “Flying to Lima, as well as to the Company’s seven other international destinations, further demonstrates GOL’s mission to extend the popularity of air travel in South America. In addition to Peru, we will also begin flying to Chile,” says Tarcísio Gargioni, vice-president of Marketing and Services of GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes.

Peru’s population is approximately 27 million. Last year, the country’s GDP grew 6.7%, one of the highest growth rates in South America, reaching US$ 78 billion. Nearly 83,000 Brazilians visited Peru in 2005, according to the World Tourism Organization.
