U.S. Department of Justice Approves Oracle Acquisition of Sun
REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., August 20, 2009 Oracle Corporation announced today that the U.S. Department of Justice has approved Oracles proposed acquisition of Sun Microsystems and terminated the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act.
Suns stockholders approved the transaction on July 16, 2009. Closing of the transaction is subject to certain conditions, including clearance by the European Commission.
