Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.
As part of a plan to right size Halcón Resources Corporations (together with its subsidiaries, the Company) corporate and administrative functions following recent asset dispositions, including the sale of its Bakken assets in September 2017, and following mutual discussions regarding the future direction of the Company, the Company has notified Joseph S. Rinando III that his last day of employment with the Company would be December 31, 2017. Mr. Rinando has served the Company with distinction as Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer and Controller since December 2014, having previously served as Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer from May 2012. Upon Mr. Rinandos departure, Mark J. Mize, the Companys Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, will be the Companys principal accounting officer. Information regarding Mr. Mizes employment arrangements with the Company, business experience and other matters is contained in the Companys definitive proxy statement filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on March 24, 2017.
